The California Highway Patrol reported a person was killed early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 101 north of Gilroy after a police pursuit.
The incident happened after 1 a.m. Sunday. The CHP was pursuing an unidentified man in a 2002 Ford Mustang.
The driver of the Mustang continued northbound on 101 at fluctuating speeds while veering in and out of lanes. The vehicle sideswiped a 2012 Chevy Silverado and overturned.
The driver was trapped inside. Responders rendered aid but the man succumbed to his injuries.
Two Morgan Hill residents in the Chevy did not sustain injuries, according to the CHP.
