Courtesy of the Community Food Bank of San Benito County:
A growing number of people in our community are struggling during the pandemic and the most vulnerable families are struggling to put food on the table.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints generously offered a truck full of food – 73,000 pounds!
This amount would normally exceed our storage capacity, but family-owned Salinas company D’Arrigo Brothers is coming to the rescue and giving Community FoodBank a place to store the perishable and nonperishable items.
This is a wonderful example of neighbors helping neighbors during this unprecedented time.
What this donation will do:
· Provide 61,000 meals
· 73,000 lbs. = $129,124
· ensure families can have a plentiful holiday season
The donation will be delivered on Tuesday, October 27th at 10 a.m.
