Twenty-two CAL/AAA students are participating in this year’s Algebra Enrichment Academy. The Academy’s new all digital format will consist of eight monthly meetings between September and May that feature challenging Math instruction, thought provoking games and hands-on activities. The rigorous and fun curriculum, which was created with UCSC math professors, will be taught on Saturdays in small breakout groups with classmates from both schools. The program is a great way to network with other 8th grade math teachers, UCSC teaching assistants and high school mentors who are former Algebra Academy Alumni. Go Cougators!
CAL/AAA Leads the state in August attendance!
Congratulations to the students, families and staff at CAL/AAA for an amazing month of attendance. School-wide CAL/AAA had a 99% student attendance average! Given the unique challenges posed by distance learning, these numbers are truly exceptional and are the highest in the state.
Principals Woods and Wilbur said “A ninety-nine percent attendance rate shows just how much the CAL/AAA community values student learning. We all worked together seamlessly so every student and family knows they are cared for and are safe learning in our online classrooms!”
A special thank you to our office and district technology staff for helping everyone get online and stay connected! Great job everyone!
An Even More Stunning CAL/AAA Campus Awaits…
CAL/AAA students have a lot to look forward to when they return to campus. They will be catching up with friends, eating great cafeteria food, playing at recess and learning in roomy, 21st century classrooms with their teachers. Our school site looks fantastic! CAL/AAA’s expert custodial team, Jessie, Jose and Nick have been working hard cleaning, painting and polishing. District folks have mowed, landscaped and completed the long summer work list. A gorgeous CAL/AAA will be ready when we all return! A special thanks to Superintendent Ochoa for his vision and commitment to making our schools beautiful places to learn and work. Also, thanks to Director of Facilities, Aaron Buzzetta and his team for their dedication and pride in the great work they do.
