NoVo Foundation, in partnership with Education First and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors has awarded the Hollister School District with a $50,000 grant to support social emotional learning practices within the district. The grant will be paid over two years, with $25,000 being allocated for the 20/21 school year and another $25,000 released during the 21/22 school year.
Director of Student Services Kip Ward said, “I’m so proud to work in a district that competes for grant funding like this! The District level grant will be used to fund Project Partnership; which is a school-home-community partnership program that links social emotional learning and service-learning projects for students in the district’s two comprehensive middle schools.”
The Hollister School District is committed to positively impacting social emotional learning for all students. Superintendent Diego Ochoa added, “We are excited about this grant because it addresses two main areas of focus; parent involvement and social-emotional learning. I’m excited to see our students fully engaged in Project PartnerSHIP!”
The $50,000 grant will support 6th, 7th and 8th grade students at Marguerite Maze Middle School and Rancho San Justo Middle School.
