San Benito County reported its third COVID-19 death Tuesday.
That marks the first death reported in San Benito County from the disease in over three months.
The death announcement comes on the same day as the county reporting 31 new cases of COVID-19, the largest single-day reported case count since the pandemic began in San Benito County.
According to the latest from the county Tuesday:
To date, a total of 8,475 patients in San Benito County (SBC) have been tested for COVID-19. Of these, 7,864 have tested negative for COVID-19.  Fifty-five percent (4,679) of patients tested were female. Patients ages ranged from 5 days to 101 years (median: 43 years). SBC Public Health Services continues to work with medical providers to identify and test individuals who meet criteria for COVID-19 testing.  As of July 28, 2020, thirty-one new cases have been reported, for a total of 584 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in SBC.  Confirmed cases include patients who have since recovered and those who are deceased.  Sixty-seven cases remain active; 514 patients have recovered and are no longer considered active cases in SBC.  A total of three deaths have been reported in SBC, one during weeks 12, 14 and 31, respectively.  All results included in this update are current to July 28, 2020 at 4:00PM.Â
