Calfire is reporting a wildfire that started Wednesday near Panoche is at 50% containment.
The fire had burned about 1,400 acres as of Thursday morning around 7 a.m.
The fire is located near Panoche Road and Coyote Creek west of Panoche, according to Calfire.
It is located northeast of Pinnacles National Park and west of Mercy Hot Springs, according to Calfire.
The state agency has dubbed it the Coyote Fire. A cause is unclear at this point.
