San Benito County adds no newly reported COVID-19 cases

San Benito County has gone a couple days without a newly confirmed COVID-19 case.

The county has 61 confirmed cases including six active cases, 53 recovered patients and two deaths.

The county’s numbers have remained relatively flat over the past month, even with federally sponsored, priority testing at the Veterans Memorial Building in Hollister. That should result in 5,000-plus tests in the county.

So far, the county has conducted 1,913 tests. That’s nearly double the number of tests conducted before the priority testing began two weeks ago.

The county released the following Monday:

To date, a total of 1,913 patients in San Benito County (SBC) have been tested for COVID-19 at twenty-two reporting laboratories.  Of these, 1,825 have tested negative for COVID-19.  Fifty-seven percent (1,088) of patients tested were female. Patients ages ranged from 1 month to 101 years (median: 48 years).  SBC Public Health Services continues to work with medical providers to identify and test individuals who meet criteria for COVID-19 testing.  As of May 18, 2020, there have been a total of 61 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in SBC; 6 cases remain active. Confirmed cases include patients who have since recovered and those who are deceased.  Fifty-three patients have recovered and are no longer considered active cases in SBC.  A total of 2 deaths have been reported in SBC, one during weeks 12 and 14, respectively. All results included in this update are current to May 18, 2020 at 4:30PM.
