The San Benito County Saddle Horse Show & Rodeo has been canceled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Saddle Horse Association made the announcement Wednesday.
San Benito Saddle Horse Show Association President Ross Rianda in a letter dated April 13 said the rodeo is postponed for 2020 and is scheduled to return June 25-27. The organization released the letter Wednesday on Facebook.
It’s unclear at this point how long the current shelter in place order will last. It’s set to end May 3, but there’s potential for an extension after that. It’s clear, however, there will be limitations on large gatherings for several months going forward.
