San Benito County confirms 39th case of COVID-19

San Benito County added one confirmed case of COVID-19 to its total Tuesday.

The county had 39 confirmed cases of the disease as of 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to local government statistics.

Breaking down the numbers, the community has had 33 patients recovered, four active cases and two deaths.

Nearly two-thirds of the cases – 25 – have been among residents ages 18-49. One of the 39 cases has been a juvenile.

To date, a total of 603 patients in San Benito County have been tested for COVID-19 at 12 reporting laboratories. Of these, 515 have tested negative for COVID-19 and 49 are pending results. Fifty-seven percent (345) of patients tested were female. Patients ages ranged from 10 months to 101 years (median: 45 years). San Benito County Public Health Services continues to work with medical providers to identify and test individuals who meet criteria for COVID-19 testing. As of April 14, 2020, there have been a total of 39 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in San Benito County; 4 cases remain active. Confirmed cases include patients who have since recovered and those who are deceased. Thirty-three patients have recovered and are no longer considered active cases in San Benito County. A total of two deaths have been reported in San Benito County, one during weeks 12 and 14, respectively. All results included in this update are current to 11 a.m. today.
