San Juan closes city parks in response to COVID-19

Courtesy of the City of San Juan Bautista:

In an effort to protect the health and safety of San Juan Bautista’s youth, children and families, all city parks are closed.

This more stringent action is necessary due to the serious nature of the COVID 19, and the continuing congregation of people in city parks and other open spaces that is a direct violation of the County Health Officer’s orders dated March 31, 2020.

City Manager Don Reynolds stated the following on the issue: “We want all residents to follow the San Benito Health Officer’s Order (attached) issued April 1, 2020, the California Governor’s Shelter in Place Order and the CDC Guidelines regarding preventative measures. We can all do our part to flatten the curve and prevent further spread of COVID-19.”
