Each week, the Hollister School District honors and recognizes two children as the male and female, “Students of the Week”. The district receives nominations by school sites and recognizes students who show excellent leadership, behavior, and academics. All honorees receive a certificate with an inscription detailing the reasons they were chosen.
This week’s recipients are from Sunnyslope Elementary School. Sunnyslope Elementary School is a finalist for the Capturing Kid’s Hearts National Showcase School.

Andrea is an extremely bright student who works hard to reach academic excellence. She never gives up in class and demonstrates grit. She is kind to all students and is always the first to welcome a new student to class. She also is one of the students who will be an MC at events such as the Winter Program.

Gavin demonstrates the Capturing Kid’s Hearts philosophy. He is kind and considerate to all students and is thoughtful in his actions. He serves as the mascot in our Tiger costume at school events and demonstrates school spirit any chance he gets. He also serves as one of our MC’s at events such as the Winter Program.
