The Hollister School District is pleased to report on the significant progress being made at Rancho Santana School, slated to open in August 2021.
The school is located off Fairview Road and Sunnyslope Drive. The entire campus will include 12 acres of space for the expected 850-student capacity. Rancho Santana School will be the district’s 11th school.
Recent project accomplishments include:
- Completion of all soil preparation for buildings.
- Completion of concrete foundations for two of the school’s five buildings.
- Installation of rebar and vapor barrier for two of the school’s five buildings.
- Completion of slab on grade for two of the school’s five buildings.
Funding for the school has been secured by the school district through a combination of bond measure funds and developer fees. Rancho Santana School will be a two-story school that consists of an administration building, library/media center, thirty-five classrooms, a playground, ball courts, and turf fields.
The school district held a groundbreaking ceremony in November 2019 to inaugurate the commencement of work on the project. The ceremony included speeches from all members of the Board of Trustees and Superintendent Diego Ochoa. There was much optimism and excitement at that time.

“This school will be an amazing addition to our district and become a community center for learning for many years to come,” Ochoa said.
The district’s Director of Facilities, Aaron Buzzetta, has taken the lead role in monitoring the school construction project.
“We caught a couple of weeks of wet weather, but it hasn’t slowed down the project,” Buzzetta said. “Our contractors have done a great job of working around the weather and going 100% when the weather has been good.”
