Mabie Northside Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) will remain closed for disaster restoration due to the flooding that took place on the afternoon of Dec. 4.
The remediation and abatement processes are now finished and restoration of the building is now in the beginning phase. Most flooring has been removed and will be replaced along with the replacement of exposed walls and some damaged door frames.
It is estimated that the restoration process will take approximately 8-9 weeks. Patients will be able to return to the facility once the restoration process has concluded and state licensing surveys to re-occupy the building have been completed.
The 46 SNF residents that were transferred to the Mabie Southside Skilled Nursing Facility and Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital are doing well overall in their temporary locations.
