Aromas-San Juan Unified School District Superintendent Michele Huntoon announced Wednesday the hiring of Angela Crawley as the new Anzar High School principal starting in the fall.
The Aromas-San Juan Unified School District Board on Wednesday voted to hire Crawley, who had been a social science teacher and in administrative support at Anzar.
Crawley was recently married and previously went by her maiden name of Oliveira. She has been a teacher at the school for the past five years.
According to an announcement from Huntoon after the meeting:
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Angela Crawley as our new Principal of Anzar High School beginning in the 2019-20 school year! We are very excited to add Angela to our team of dedicated administrators. As an educator, Angela is a life-long learner and has been teaching at Anzar for the past five years. She truly believes that Anzar is ‘a gem to the community in which we serve’ and she is looking forward to building relationships with administration, within the school and the community. We welcome Angela to her new role as the next leader of Anzar High School!
Crawley will succeed longtime Principal Charlene McKowen, who is retiring after this school year after serving in the role for about two decades.
The job post listed the compensation at $104,536-$121,724 and requests a start date of July 1.
