An early morning fire in the Rancho Larios gated community left a family displaced, but firefighters contained the blaze to one of the rooms.
“The cause is still under investigation,” said Battalion Chief Charlie Bedolla with the Hollister Fire Department.
The fire department responded to the fire at 2:39 a.m. in 200 block of Via Vaquero Norte in the gated community off Highway 156 in the San Juan Bautista area.
Bedolla confirmed the fire was contained to one room. He said there was some smoke damage but nothing too major.
“It didn’t take that long for them to get control,” Bedolla said.
He wasn’t certain how many people were displaced from the home. A spokesman for the American Red Cross wasn’t immediately available to comment.
