SBHS names Baler STRONG students of the week

San Benito High School teachers, counselors and administrators each week recognize students as Baler STRONG Students of the Week. STRONG is an acronym for (Scholarship, Teamwork, Reflection, Opportunity, Nurture and Growth), representing the core values of San Benito High School. Each student earning recognition is presented with a certificate signifying the honor. Here are the recipients for the week of Dec. 10-14:
Senior Desiree Patterson was nominated by the Counseling Office for her scholarship. Her nomination said she is “a great student who overcame obstacles to be successful.” Counseling also nominated senior Armando Agobo for growth, noting that he has taken life’s challenges and has thrived within his education.”

The Physical Education Department recognized freshman Robert Zieminski for his teamwork, point out that he “is a student who always offers to lend a hand with equipment and set up activities. He is always dressed out and engaged in all activities. He is polite and respectful to everyone in his class.” The department also nominated junior Rick Buelna for growth. “He is a student who has been showing his best effort,” the nomination said.
The English Department honored freshman Enrique Martinez for the Baler STRONG value of reflection, pointing out that he “works hard and has a great attitude. He helps other students whenever possible. Also, he helps teachers maintain an equitable environment for all students.” The department also recognized Jarniah Eleccion for teamwork, saying that he is “extremely helpful in class. He always looks out for other students and … is polite and has a great attitude.”
