I’m sure that many of you followed the coverage of President George H.W. Bush’s passing and the ceremony that took place at the Washington National Cathedral. It was a historic gathering of national and international leaders and an opportunity to see our country come together to honor the life well lived of a former president who by many was thought to be one of the most well-prepared presidents in our history.
We live in a time when there are many living former presidents and great visionaries who can continue to provide leadership lessons that can be applied to our work at the college each day.
As we wrap up the semester and prepare for finals week I’d like to wish you the best for this holiday season. We have much to be grateful for this year, and it is centered on YOU…our students, faculty staff, and community.
Without the contributions of each one we would not be able to achieve our overall vision and have the opportunity to build a future together that will be truly remarkable in the years ahead.
You had the bold belief in that vision through our Educational Master Plan and Facilities Master Plan, and the recent passage of Measure X. Our district is prepared to move forward and meet the needs of the future.
In March 2019 we will be visited by an accreditation team from the Western Association of Schools and Junior Colleges. We will share with them our story, our strength and our pride.
So, thank you… each of you… for an excellent year and I wish you a restful and joyful holiday season.
