Omar Rodriguez has a comfortable lead over Greg LaForge in the race for San Benito County Superior Court judge.
Rodriguez, an assistant county counsel in Santa Cruz County and former deputy district attorney locally, is running against public defender LaForge.
Rodriguez had 54.76% of the vote to 45.24% for LaForge.
The initial results make up the majority of the expected vote count, largely from mail ballots.
