Teknova, a Hollister company that partners with pharmaceutical and academic institutions around the country to support molecular biology research applications, recently launched a weather balloon from the Quad on San Benito High School’s main campus to encourage students to consider STEM (science technology, engineering and math) careers. Students watched throughout the lunch period as Teknova representatives inflated the balloon and attached GoPro cameras to it prior to its release. Students gasped and cheered as the balloon was launched and headed skyward, eventually floating south, just beyond Coalinga.
