Local leaders gathered Friday morning to commemorate the opening of the Riverside Parkway, a bypass around Nash Road and the San Benito High School campus that’s expected to increase safety for local students. River Parkway provides access to the county’s long-awaited Regional Park, and is designed to ensure high school students and staff are safe during school hours by allowing the re-direction of traffic off of Nash Road around SBHS. Going forward, Nash Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays between San Benito Street and West Street. Watch highlights from the ribbon cutting below:
