The California Highway Patrol reported a major-injury crash at about 8 p.m. Saturday on Highway 25 near the intersection of Highway 156.
The accident involved three vehicles. Initial reports indicate a brown Honda Civic driven by a 55-year-old male out of Los Gatos was northbound on Highway 25 when it may have unsafely passed a red Honda Civic driven by a 52-year-old male from Redwood City, but that aspect remains under investigation, said Officer Chris Miceli with the CHP.
The wreck occurred on Highway 25 just north of Highway 156, according to the CHP.
The brown Honda appeared to have collided with a white Ford van driven by a 74-year-old male out of San Francisco that was southbound on the highway.
The driver of the van was taken by air ambulance to Natividad Medical Center with major injuries, Miceli reported. The driver of the red Honda was taken by ground ambulance to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected in the incident.
