San Benito High School is excited to roll out its new college and career pathways this year.

Based on a recommendation from school administrators after gathering input from staff, parents and students, the San Benito High School Board of Trustees in February voted to change the name of the school’s two graduation pathways. The goal is to avoid any confusion and help inform students, parents and the community about what the two graduation paths mean for post-secondary options.

The “a-g” default option for students to complete the minimum requirements for applying to a U.C. or CSU is called the “University Pathway.” The “Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway” is an opt-in option that puts students on a predetermined pathway that prepares them to be industry-ready so they can continue their post-secondary education at a community college, trade school or apprenticeship.
