Rodeo parade entries due next week

The San Benito County Saddle Horse Association Rodeo Parade is coming back this June after a one-year hiatus, and the organization is requesting entries for the event that are due by May 10.

According to the San Benito County Saddle Horse Association: The Downtown Parade is the kickoff to a week of festivities leading up to the 85th anniversary of The San Benito County Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo.

The parade went on a hiatus last year with a change of the guard with organization of the event, previously put on by the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce.

The parade starts at Haydon and San Benito streets and proceeds north on San Benito Street to Fifth Street in downtown Hollister.

The parade is looking for entertaining, creative, and exciting entries. Organizers welcome bands, floats, drill teams, dance teams, comical groups, military groups and equestrians. They can help with ideas.

Please read general parade guidelines. Respond early to be considered for placement in our parade. Parade organizers will approve applicants. Notification of acceptance will be emailed.
