There’s been a whole lot of shaking going on in San Benito County, but of the mild variety.
Since Friday, there have been a dozen small to very small earthquakes in the county, along with two others north of Gilroy.
The biggest one was a magnitude 3.0 near San Juan Bautista on Saturday morning at about 7:30 a.m. about three miles west/northwest of San Juan followed by a 2.8 magnitude earthquake in the same area about 30 minutes later and a 2.4 magnitude shaker shortly before 4 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, other earthquakes in the area over the past few days, albeit small, included the following:
1.6 magnitude seven miles southeast of Pinnacles at 12:11 p.m. Sunday.
2.2 magnitude seven miles southeast of Pinnacles at 12:10 p.m. Sunday.
0.9 magnitude at 11:35 a.m. Sunday seven miles southeast of Pinnacles.
2.2 magnitude at 1:38 a.m. Sunday six miles southeast of Pinnacles.
1.2 magnitude 5 miles southeast of San Juan at 10:39 a.m. Saturday.
1.5 magnitude 3 miles east of Pinnacles at 8:39 a.m. Saturday.
1.6 magnitude 3 miles east of Pinnacles at 8:40 a.m. Saturday.
2.4 magnitude 3 miles west of San Juan at 8:12 a.m. Saturday
2.6 magnitude at 2:05 a.m. Saturday northeast of Gilroy.
2.0 magnitude in the same area 10 minutes later.
1.8 3 miles northeast of Pinnacles at 5:42 p.m. Friday.
