Education office hosts 20th annual spelling bee

The San Benito County Office hosted our 20^th annual spelling bee this year. There are two age categories- 4-6 and 7-8. The top two winners in each age category will be competing at the State Spelling Bee (I am attaching the info for both).

Elementary winners- Grades 4-6:

1^st Place-Rasmeet Brar, AAA 6^th Grade

2^nd Place- Max Westphal, HDLA 6^th Grade

3^rd Place- Brooklynn Goldstone, AAA 5^th Grade

4^th Place- Kim Barrcelos, RO Hardin 5^th Grade

Junior High winners- Grades 7-8

1^st– Carmela Clark, Spring Grove 8^th Grade

2^nd– Kyle Yamanishi, Southside 8th Grade

3rd – Cassandra Reyes, HDLA 7th Grade

4^th – Emmia Rivera, HDLA 7^th Grade

It was a great event. We want to thank Hollister Rotary for donating iPads to the first place winners in each category. My husband and I donated amazon gift cards for the 2-4^th grade winners in each division. Senator Canella also provided certificates of recognition for each student who competed in the finals.
