Traffic was slow on Highway 156 this morning about halfway between Hollister and San Juan Bautista due to a car slamming into a pole in the early-morning hours.
The accident was initially reported at 3:37 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. There was a gas leak reported on scene, with fluids coming from the Nissan Altima involved in the wreck.
PG&E crews were out around 8 a.m. Tuesday doing repair work of some kind.
