Calfire has introduced an app to alert homeowners of wildfire dangers, and the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging locals to download it.
According to an announcement from the sheriff’s office:
As summer, and summer heat approaches, the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office wants everybody to begin thinking about fire safety. This is especially important with the 4th of July holiday rapidly approaching. You can get yourself prepared and “Get READY for wildfire with the CAL FIRE app! Get SET by following the wildfire preparation checklist items so your family can be ready to GO when wildfire strikes.”

- taking charge of your Defensible Space
- hardening your home
- preparing for Bark Beetle
- creating an evacuation and family communication plan
- assembling an emergency supply kit
- evacuating early!
