The San Benito County Chamber of Commerce announced Michelle Leonard as the organization’s interim CEO.
Leonard took over for Candace Ledesma, who resigned in late October four months into the job.
According to the announcement from the chamber released Monday:
Michelle Leonard took the helm at the Chamber on Nov. 16, bringing with her a fiery strength and unfiltered optimism.
The San Benito County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is excited to announce the appointment of Michelle Leonard as the Interim CEO. Michelle comes from a strong operations background; most recently working for the San Benito County Arts Council as Operations & Development Coordinator. During her time, fundraising from individuals and businesses increased and events were always well attended and lively.
Chamber programs including Lunch & Learn and monthly mixers will be redesigned under Leonard’s leadership. Seminars, Wreaths across America, Chamber Travel and Monday Brew & Perks will continue as well, but with a new, creative twist.
“I’m super thankful and humbled to be in this position. I have always thrived in jobs where I knew my process and I have always known that my strengths are hospitality and service. The Chamber of Commerce is the perfect blend of Process and Service. I’m in my element when I’m helping other people to be successful; to me, that’s what leadership and success looks like. Encouraging collaboration and advocating for purpose driven organizations, supporting & uplifting all businesses and connecting with rural agriculture is what will make our community stronger and bring us all together. If we instill a culture of hospitality and service in our people, not only will travelers come here for the landmarks, the beautiful wineries and the food, but they will live, play, shop, invest and thrive here too.”
